I met 'Aunt Marie' as she had me call her when I worked in a donut shop in Anniston in the summer between high school and college. She came in every afternoon with a small styrofoam cooler, which I filled with crushed ice for her, for $.75. She told me her husband was sick and he liked to munch on the ice. I found out much later that she used that same ice to deliver arsenic to Frank. Needless to say, when I saw her pictures in the paper, I was so shocked to find out that this sweet, generous lady, ( she gave me money to pay my lab fees at school) could be capable of such heinous crimes. I am still shocked. She would sit with me for sometimes an hour, talking about family, work, her dreams ans aspirations, her deep religious beliefs and love for her husband who was ill. She would cry and say I just wish I could turn back the clock and things like that. I asked her how could turning back the clock help her husbands condition. She hugged e and told me I had wisdom beyond my 17 years. Its still hard for me to believe, but I know she did it.

She was a murderer who lived in Alabama. She usually went by "Marie". Marie killed her husband in 1975 and tried to kill her daughter in 1978 -- both times by injecting arsenic. After conviction, bodies were exhumed of other relatives which also showed high levels of arsenic contamination.

What motivated Audrey Marie Hilley to kill has remained unclear, even now, decades later. Probably it was money, but she didn't reap a lot from her evil deeds.

Marie Frazier married Frank Hilley in 1951. They had a son (Michael) in 1952, and a daughter (Carol) in 1960. Both Frank and Marie worked, achieving a moderately high middle class income. But Marie was profligate -- her spending habits often stretched the family finances to the limit. What's more, she had numerous affairs, and was eventually caught by Frank in bed with her boss in 1974.

About this time Frank was already suffering from ill health. In May 1975 he saw a doctor about his problems, and very shortly was dead, official cause was hepatitis.

Marie went on a spending spree with the money (not that much, about $31,000). Her mental health declined over the years. She had never much liked her daughter Carol; it appears that Marie started to poison her in 1979, afraid that Carol was trying to go off and live her own independent life. By late 1979, Mike and other relatives were convinced that Marie had a part in Carol's mystery illness -- it was determined to be arsenic poisoning.

In 1980 Marie absconded while still on bail for her crimes. In the meantime, using the false name Robbi, she met and married a man named John Homan in 1981, in Florida. In 1982 she told John she had to do some travel to see relatives, including her twin sister who lived in Texas. In the next bizarre twist, "Teri" turns up on John's doorstep, saying that "Robbi" had died. "Teri" then resumes "Robbi's" old job and living with Homan.

Work colleagues were sure that "Robbi" and "Teri" were the same woman, eventually alerting the police.

Under questioning, Teri/Robbi finally admitted she was actually Audrey Marie Hilley.

Marie was sent to prison for her violent crimes. One day in February 1987 she didn't come back to the open prison where she was incarcerated. After four days she was found wandering around outside, and soon died of hypothermia.

Audrey Marie Frazier was born on the 4th of June in the year 1933. She was basically an American murderer who used to kill people by poisoning them. She got married to a man by the name of Frank Hilley in the year 1951 and thus became Marie Hilley. In the year 1975 her husband started getting sick with complaints of nausea and tenderness in her abdomen. When his stomach aches increased and his condition persisted he was admitted in the hospital for further tests. His tests revealed a liver malfunction. Doctors then diagnosed infectious hepatitis. Frank died on the 25th of May in the year 1975.

Audrey benefited from the life insurance that her husband had and got around $31140. One year later she took out a life insurance policy on her daughter amounting to $25000. Within a few months after taking this life insurance her daughter Carol began to experience nausea and was admitted to the hospital. Hill gave her daughter an injection to make her feel better but her condition went bad. A few weeks later she gave Carol another injection and told her not to speak of it to anyone. Tests revealed that there was presence of iron in her body way more than the normal levels. The body of her husband was dug up and tested for poison and she was convicted to serve 20 years for attempting murder and life for murder. She died in 1987 due to a heart attack.
