Yes, he is Haitian. He should be proud ed to say he is Haiti. Haiti is a country like any other country.
Haiti is the first black country free from slavery without the haitians, black people would be still living under this catastrophic regim. That a shame, Usher denied his roat, some people sent $$$ just to know were they came from.

Yes, his father whom he did not grow up with was Haitian. His mother was not. He has claimed Haitian Heritage many times since becoming big, even after his hit "My Way". He is not ashamed, but was not raised in the culture.

Usher is haitian descendant like all haitian is african descendant.But usher isn´t haitian. I´m haitian becouse my parents are haitian and I borned in haiti.

I'm sick of people wantin to kno if ushers Haitian! He is of haitian decent but is not directly Haitian and he does not have to represent for Haiti if it was his father whom he didn't even grow up wit who is the Haitian one. If he didn't grow up in the culture he does not have to claim it and this does not mean he's ashamed sheesh.. When black people have white grandparents or Indian and try to claim it people go "oh please your not so and so your just tryna sound exotic your black" but anytime some one who has Haitian somewhere far down the family line that they don't even identify with and don't claim it oh their ashamed of there culture get over yourselves! Had he been half jamaican or trini and not claiming it we would not have a problem wit it smh!
