Is Tom Cruise Gay?

The sudden news that Katie Holmes has filed for divorce from Tom Cruise over the past week has the question on everyone's lips again...Is Tom Cruise gay or not?
Rumours first began when Tom Cruise was in 'Top Gun' back in 1986.  The film was rumoured to have many subtle references to being gay in it; such as "he's on my tail" when being chased in a plane fight) and the song 'Playing with the boys' which accompanied a male volleyball match.

Tom Cruise met Nicole Kidman on the set of 'Days of Thunder' and they married.  Sadly the pair could not have children, so they adopted.  After the film 'Eyes Wide Shut', again, people wondered if Tom Cruise was homosexual.  People thought a borderline pornographic film was a step too far, along the line of protesting too much that he is straight. It had the opposite affect as it seemed to forced and unnatural - so this flamed rumours of him being gay once more.

When Tom Cruise met Katie Holmes, women of the World had their hearts broken once more as he was well and truly off the market.  Tom declared his love, jumping up and down on the sofa on Oprah Winfrey's show in an odd display of over-affection for Katie, who is said to have found the ordeal rather embarrassing.  Still, Katie Holmes pointed out, that like most young women, as a teenager, she had lusted after Tom Cruise in Top Gun and Cocktail, so to meet him was a dream come true.

The issue of Tom's Scientology beliefs have always been a tender subject between the couple, and certainly of close friends to Katie's.  One of the biggest bones of contention was that these beliefs state that women should not use any pain relief during child birth - which led to many people feeling sorry for Katie.  Katie Holmes gave birth to Suri Cruise on April 18th 2006.  Scientology puts a lot of importance on the number 33, and some say that Tom will not date anyone over the age 33 as Katie is soon to approach this age!

There have been many jokes made about Tom and Katie's relationship, with one "Save Katie" campaign running before their marriage, and a skit in Family Guy suggesting that Katie was on a security tag and could only escape the house during a power cut.  Another Family Guy sketch features Tom Cruise trying to run away from his gay thoughts.

With no rumour of him suing the show...it would be safe to assume that Tom Cruise can take a joke and probably isn't gay.  Tom Cruise has never been linked with another man sexually either, so all these jokes are based on rumours.

The exact reasons for the divorce are not known yet, but with 1 out of 2 marriages in the States ending in divorce, we can't say that this is an unusual turn of events, and their relationship has lasted longer than many in Hollywood.  Tom's first wife Mimi Rogers said that their marriage ended due to a lack of sex, and as a true hollywood beauty, it might be hard to understand why Tom wouldn't fancy her enough if he is straight.  My sympathies go to the couple during this tough time, and especially Suri as children always get caught up in divorce.

Yes he is gay , S.E. Hinton the writer of The Outsiders and Rumble Fish once wrote that while on set in Tulsa Oklahoma for the movie the Outsiders that Tom always had his boyfriend on set and was often seen kissing him. Why would she lie about that? Besides he is clearly gay anyways , and scientology is for gay men , look at L. Ron Hubbard , he had sex with young boys all of the time and had even been caught by authorities. For those of you who say he is not because he is married and has a kid... Tom Cruise is probably gay, but he'll never admit it because it would ruin his career and credibility. Maybe, like Rock Hudson, he'll be forced to admit it, but he'll never do it out of conscience. Especially when a religious cult is involved.

A friend of mine had a Hollywood actor friend who claimed to
have had a fling with Tom Cruise.  I think the rumours of him being gay
are true.  It's a bit surprising though in this day age, especially in
liberal Hollywood where they're more tolerant of that.  Why any woman
would agree to live a lie is beyond me; I'm sure Kate Holmes is aware of his
bisexual tendencies.  I understand there are some women that long for the
fame and fortune that goes with marrying a high profile celebrity still, I
couldn't respect myself or live like that year after year.  These women
either don't care about their hubby's alternate lifestyle or they're in
complete denial.

I never thought Tom was gay until I heard him deny it on Larry King one night - My partner and I turned to each other in disbelief saying - 'oh my god he is so lying!'.

According to my Hollywood business manager friend, he is...everyone forgets that he was supposedly sterile and that is why he and Nicole adopted kids....Katie's friends were upset when she decided to marry him as they said it was just another Liza Minnelli thing..and they probably know...but these women made the deal to forward their career and it worked for Nicole, not sure it is for Katie....he won't come out as it would hurt his career but like others  it will eventually...

Of course tom cruise is gay. You have to be blind not to see that.  It is obvious in his movies especially when he tries so hard to portray himself as a macho man. You can sense that he is really acting and not doing a good job of hiding the fact that he is gay and trying to hide it unsuccessfully.

He has contracts with his wives so that everyone thinks he's straight. He makes a lot of money for the movie moguls and they will keep his secret so that his career is not down the drain. I don't feel sorry for Katie--she sold her soul for a career. It's just too bad she does not have Nicole's talent.

All one needs to do is go to Thailand where he is called "Mr. Tom" by the boys at the Amandari and you will know.  I enjoy Tom's volume of work and hope he makes many more films.  What he does in bed should be his biz and not have any impact on his career.  Unfortunately this is not the case in Hollywood so I doubt he will ever come out.

This story has gone round and round. Even after the guy marries and has a baby, it still persists.

The latest whispers came in after a book was published by a porn producer named Paul Barresi. In it he includes an acount from a man who claims that he was in a gay sex orgy with Tom Cruise.

The usual protestations and denials were trotted out by Cruise's lawyer, to say he'd never been involved in a gay affair.

So where do the rumours come from?
it doesn't help that Cruise was briefly interested in becoming a Catholic priest. And he has committed the utter sin of occasionally uttering lines in movies that don't sound like a complete hardman.

A simpler interpretation about why these rumours persist might be about the fact that he is... vertically challenged. As in no more than 5'8" tall; 5'7" according to some sources. And good-looking. And scrawny. And has long hair. And interested in fashion. Let's face it, he does look a LOT like a girl, don't you think?

If Tom is gay, it's his business, if he is it will come out sooner or later, but regardless of that he's a good actor and to me it wouldn't matter one way or another, we are who we are.

You can all say or write good or bad things about people. At the end of the day life is too short to worry about things like this. If TOM CRUISE is gay then so be-it. Having met him and being gay myself I didn't pick up anything, and of course my sister delivered his and Nicole s kids and she didn't pick up on it.

So most men in fact can be gay if they let them selves be that is the bottom line. Deciding who you want to have sex with is really no ones business but the people doing it. Just because you have sex with other men or one other man doesn't mean that you are fortunate enough to be GAY. It takes much more than sleeping with another man to be able to give yourself that title.

So please take some time to reflect on what is important in life and that is happiness and love not to mention peace and harmony

Even if it is true, it looks like we will never know.

If he is he does a good job of hiding it. No male has proven they have had sex with him. He has won every court case brought to court.

For some reason gay people-men almost exclusively- want famous people to be gay. Not the nerds, losers or uglies mind you (you don't see Rob Schneider or Pauly Shore is gay blogs), but good looking, popular and athletic types. I think it's the residual insecurity of a still frightened lot trying to expose a stereotype that is discomfortingly accurate.
