Why Did King Tut Get Married So Young?

Because to be a pharaoh you must be married. So that if you die there will be someone next in line to the throne. Which is called a dynasty. Also if you don't have children your wife could just marry another guy and have children of her own.   P.s. I am also very interested in king tut and cleopatra not to mention Egypt it self.

Pre-puberty marriages were quite common amongst royalty back in those days. It was for dynastic reasons, such as to secure their families reign and place at the throne. It wasn't uncommon also for those unions to be between brother and sister, again to secure the families place in royalty. As you may know, Tutankhamun married his half sister Ankhesenamun. They were probably married somewhere around Tutankhamun being the age of 9, as he died at the age of 18 after a 9 year reign.

He was a young King, a boy king also known as pharaoh.
King Tut was nine years old when he became pharaoh and reigned for approximately ten years.
Because he was so young he also married young.

Did you know, His tomb was so well hidden it had not been robbed of its treasures when it was discovered. It was the most complete Ancient Egyptian tomb ever found. This gave scientist clues, really good clues to life and death during the time of King Tut.

He married so young so that if he happened to die like he did his wife that was his girlfriend his half sister doesn't fall in love with someone else

His father died and he was of marrying age and once married he was Pharaoh

A lot of egyptians married their sister or brother
he married her half sister and they thought when you get to growen up part you can marry 10 to up and they didn't live that much
