Definitely! I also have a deep voice for a girl. My vocal coach says it's actually easier for those with deep voices to get good strong high notes since you have the depth already.. ;) She also has a deep voice and she's one of the greatest classical singers here where I come from.

You can use your head tone to reach the high notes, but she advised me not to do that - one has to find a balance between the chest tone *where the depth comes from* and the head tone *where the range gets to expand*. Finding the balance will enable you to prevent running out of breath and squeaking out the high notes. You'll know the balance is off when you feel like you're squeezing out those high notes/low notes, and the strain is very much present. Finding the balance will need the help of a vocal coach though. Haha.. :D

I was actually afraid at first since I thought low voices for girls was abnormal.. O_O Over the phone I get confused for a guy at times.. But who am I to question the opinion of people who have studied music?

Deep voices for girls are rare honey. You've got to embrace it and love it and hone it to its full potential! :D Go for it! :D I swear you'll have tons of fun! :) I just started my first lesson today and it's already helped me loads! Get a great vocal coach ;) Good luck!

That's what my friend told me. I don't know for sure. It also depends on other things. LOL But in my opinion, I think so too. Because some of the greatest singers have deep speaking voices (i.e Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera.)

Yes. I have a deep voice myself and I am a singer. I actually find it easier to sing high than to sing low! I think anyone can sing high, however deep your voice is. Your voice has two sort of halves: A lower half and a higher half and you can sing whatever notes you want using the two halves, provided you practise.  :D

Just look up Christina Aguilera on youtube. She has a sort of deep voice but she has a whistle octave and high notes. Some songs like Candyman, fighter, get mine get yours, dirty, mercy on me, what a girl wants, lady marmalade, and low notes such as dreamy eyes. Especially look up her live performances. Those are the best :D

It really all depends on the person. Most anyone can learn to sing with practice. Some are born with it like Christina Aguilera who can sing in like 5 different octaves, but most of us aren't. I think its people with deep voices who have better singing usually. Because they have comand over their talking range and usually higher

I have a deep (or low) voice, and I find it difficult to sing more than an octave above my natural range.  It puts a strain on my vocal chords.  I suppose with training it could be changed.

I've seen people do it. My music teacher said it takes extra hard work & properly exercising your vocal chords, but it's VERY much possible! & also, you're supposed to do more deep breathing & sing from your diaphragm, rather than shallow breathing & singing from your throat.

Not normally; however, there is the exception of those who have a long range in their voices. With a lot of voice training you could probably sing several several octives. Peace
