I agree with Benvick. I think they should leave the doll they way it has been for the last 50 years. I also think that all the people I hear complaining about the way a barbie looks she be more concerned about what our children are seeing and hearing in the media. Even the little cutesie, wholesome one's, i.e., highschool musical, Hanna Montana are posing for magazines nude or half nude. I think those kind of things have wayyy more influence on children and teens than a barbie doll.

You two need to start the "Barbie-Fanclub-Group"

You could have a "The nasty things Bluesman has said about Barbie"

And then when you take over the world you will have proof of my crimes

;-)

No she is not she is just a doll why are people freaking out about Barbie. I don't think girls think they're fat because a doll looks thin. And what do you want the company to do make a fat doll I mean who would buy that maybe then little girls would want to become fat now which one do you really want a lot of fat little girls or a lot of thin little girls!

Barbies are not who kids are looking to for role models.....it's more like Brittney Spears, rappers, and such. (that's what we should be worried about).

I've heard parents say many times to their children, "You have to eat your fruits and vegetables. Don't you want to grow up to be big and strong like daddy/mommy?" All I can say is that if a child is looking at a barbie doll as a role model and not their parent, the problem is with the parent.

Barbie is exactly the way she should be :) When I was little I had lots of Barbies and I loved them dearly. I used to pull all their limbs off their bodies and heads and keep them in a plastic bag under my bed . True story.  I did not grow up to be anorexic or a serial killer because of my love for the Barbie doll. YAY doll parts !!

I think barbie is a bad influence because it gives younger girls the wrong idea thinking I should be thin like barbie!!!!

I think that barbie is too skinny to be good role model I mean, who wants their kid growing up starving themselves, so they can stay slim and sexy. Not me. Even girls should have some weight. Like I have a friend, who's 13 and weighs 75 pounds. I just don't think that's right.

When I was a little girl, I loved barbies. But I never used to think 'I wish I was skinny like that'. I used to think 'I wish I was a princess like barbie'. Little girls don't think like that, unless you make them think like that. If a mother is obsessing over her weight, her daughter will do the same.

I think Barbie is way to skinny too be a good role model. Maybe, the little girls that buy the Barbie dolls will want to be exactly like Barbie when they grow up. Who knows? Maybe they will become anorexic (or however you spell it) and that would be very bad. So I disagree with all of you. :-((((

I think Barbie has a few good morals and lessons to teach children, like having high goals for careers in the future. But on the other hand, as a Medical professional, I believe that her proportions and ideal weight is scary. She sometimes comes with a pink bathroom scale set to 110lbs. If she stood at 5'9" tall she would be 35lbs underweight, she would lack the 22% body fat needed to have a menstrual cycle. It would not be healthy for anyone to be like Barbie.
