There were a few songs titled "Change" in the 1980s, but the most famous and successful song with this title was by the band "Tears For Fears".

"Tears for Fears" were a British pop group formed in 1981, and which consisted of musicians Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith.

The band were associated with the New Wave synth bands of the 1980s, but also explored more mainstream pop and rock avenues, which led to international commercial success.

In 1983, the band released their debut album, "The Hurting" - which went platinum and produced a string of hits, especially the single "Mad World" which reached number three in the United Kingdom.

John Waite also had a song by the title "Change".  It reached #16 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock chart in 1982.  It can be heard all over 80's internet radio streams quite frequently today.
