Every line from every lyric by Linkin Park!

Linkin Park - Easier To Run - Meteora album - 2003

Something has been taken from deep inside of me
The secret I've kept locked away no one can ever see
Wounds so deep they never show they never go away
Like moving pictures in my head for years and years they've played

                                        *  *    *

Sometimes I remember the darkness of my past
Bringing back these memories I wish I didn't have
Sometimes I think of letting go and never looking back
And never moving forward so there'd never be a past

There are many, but here is one:

"I don't want clever conversation .... I never want to work that hard"

There are too many favorite lyrics of mine but here is a darker lyric from a song that I heard last week. I like it, lol.

I love eyes, I'm an eye guy and I think there is a lot to learn from looking deep into someone's eyes.

Dear Jaimie,

I love songs that find wonder within the darkness of life...and truly, I was entranced by the Carla Bruni you posted last night:

* * *

I’m told that our lives aren’t worth much,
They pass in an instant, like wilting roses.
I’m told that time slipping by is a b@stard
Making its coat of our sorrows.
Yet someone told me…

That you still loved me
Someone told me…
That you still loved me.

Hmm, either

"What else should I be? All apologies..." from Nirvana's 'All apologies"

Or simply "come as you are" from 'Come as you are", same band.

I could rant about Nirvana and Kurt and the 90's for hours, but that's for another question haha

From other 4th graders--sung to the Battle Hymn of the Republic:

"Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the lord: He is coming down the mountain in his little yellow Ford.  One hand is on the throttle and the other on a bottle of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer."

A number of lines from a genius who has not won a Nobel prize.

"I am just a poor boy
Though my story's seldom told
I have squandered my resistance
For a pocket full of mumbles, such are promises
All lies and jests
Still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest."

The entire song is poetry of the highest order.

or, how about:

"Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains within the sound of silence."

A tad better than the fellow who did.

"Get sick, get well
Hang around a ink well
Ring bell, hard to tell
If anything is goin’ to sell"
