Dear Jan,

I did like the Star Trek movies, and I watched The Next Generation...

However to me the BEST was the original series; the interaction among Kirk, Scotty, Spock, McCoy and Lt. Uhuru, too. At the end there was usually a little philosophical exchange, often humorous, wrapping things up.

And those early episodes often dealt with elemental human issues, too; anger, evil, racial prejudice, plus lots of humour...I think I read once that Nichelle Nichols' role was one of the very first so respectful to African-American women.

I don't really have a favourite movie, but my favourite episode is 'The Trouble with Tribbles' (TOS, episode 15, season 2).

My favourite actor is William Shatner, because I find it hilarious when he overacts, but the best actor is Leonard Nimoy.

My favourite character is Scotty, and I don't know why.  Just because.

Original series had two great episodes. "The City on the Edge of Forever", ans one that used the plot line from "The Enemy Below".

Favorite Actor and Character - Leonard Nimoy as Spock.
