Right now, the clouds look like a blanket! A never ending grey blanket. It's overcast today.

I once looked up from my seat on the train on a heavy, grey, stormy day and found that there was a freakish round hold right through the thick layer of clouds. It was about lunch time and the sun must have been close to the top of the hole because there was a blaze of golden light coming down the shaft. It was spellbinding. If an angel had ridden down on a fiery stallion I wouldn't have been a bit surprised.

Of course. They're a kind of self-administered Rohrschach test.

Dear Roy Roy,

Yes I used to do that...but now I don't have time anymore because I have an imaginary angel named Merrilee (she's an angel of the morning), and wherever she flies she leaves a contrail of feathers that only LOOKS like clouds but it's really not, it's her feathers.

Here you can see what I mean...I got this photo of Merrilee's feathers the other morning...(she's nuts)...you can see where she made an Immelman maneuver right at the apex there...

Yup. What if the sky is white and fluffy but filled with too many blue clouds?

I don't think that one was a 'stupid question' at all .. It was what is often referred to as a thought provoking question .. nothing wrong with that ..

However .. that doesn't mean that we haven't had stupid questions here .. For example: "I think I'm pregnant, how do I know it's mine?" .. Now THAT is a stupid question.

I still see shapes in the clouds, but somehow the clouds seem to have less imagination than they once edid.

Yes, I did when I was a little girl. That were many moons ago. (L0L) I am still amazed at their shapes. And I often wonder how far away they are from Heaven. :)
