If you could have one additional skill on top of those you already have, what would it be? How would you use it.

I'd like to be able to catch a fly with one hand. A friend of mine can do it and it drives me nutz that I can't. I've been trying for years every summer , and I can't Suss it :/ and how I'd use it .... I'd catch a fly in one hand ... Then yell " I CAN DO IT TOO , SUCKA! " then I'd be over it :)

There are only two ways you could do that.
The first is to sharpen the thing to a fine point and stab them with it.
The second is to renounce your Catholicism and become a Buddhist. Then you could pose a new koan. Instead of asking, "What is the sound of one hand clapping" you could meditate on "How do I catch a fly with only one chopstick". When you get the answer you will have found Nirvana.

Well, I actually use a toothpick, but I didn't want to boast.

And yes, it is one of the pointed ones.

Finding Nirvana would require me to accept that the nature of the self is illusory.

I'm enjoying the Kingdom of God too much to settle for Nirvana.

Garn, that's not a stone. Nobody could do that. I'll bet Dragonfly flew over there and let him throw her.

Reminds me of a movie called The Client. Kid shows his lil bro how an eskimo pees by dropping ice cubes to the floor.

I wish I could sew really well.  I tried several classes, but just never got the hang of it.  It would be great to make clothes for my family and sew beautiful dresses for brides .... Even prom dresses for girls who can't afford to buy them.

It's a wonderful talent, Janis, and you have the nicest reason for doing it. Mrs Didge has made all her own clothes and lots of the kids stuff, as well as some of mine. Had we raised a family of girls I doubt that she'd ever have stopped. She's saved us as fortune and always looks like a million dollars.

I wish I could sing. My voice is awful! And no, I am not just saying that. The look on my husband face the first time he heard me said it all.

I feel your pain, Gator. I'm awful. If I get decent backing I can stay fairly close but nobody ever said I had a good singing voice.

I would get a skill so I could get a job and stop being such a burden to everyone who comes in contact with me. I would learn to build bridges instead of burn them. I just wouldn't go over them cuz I am afraid of heights.

Hi Dozy,

Well I was just going to answer that I am already so replete with skills and can't think of anything else, but then I saw Hippy's stone-skipping video....

And yes, I would like that. It's a very sad story but when my father took us out to the river around 1953 for the rite-of-passage stone skipping lessons, my little brother was great. When I grieved about this to my mother, she said girls had elbows jointed differently than boys, so it was okay.                           (I don't know if that is true but sounded good.)

But then when I was sixty, I myself taught a little boy how to skip stones!     He was only nine but he was instantly better than me...(sigh)

Anyway, ty for asking this sad story...I want to skip stones like AH.
