Are you taking lessons or are you in band at school?  This is the best place to start.  Ask your teacher if he or she has played this tune.  There are a lot of great resources online, too.  Try going to Youtube.com and look for the song there.

For instructions on the drum set featured in the song Smoke on The Water by British rock band Deep Purple, go to the given link - www.sheetmusicplus.com.

The song was initially released as a part of the album called Machine Head. The song is famous for and easily identifiable by its main theme, a four note 'blues scale' melody created in parallel fourths which has become on of the most popular riffs in the history of hard rock. The riff is performed by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore on a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar. The riff is soon merged with hi hat and drums and some electric bass before Ian Gillian starts singing. Blackmore has made use of two fingers for plucking so that the pairs of notes correspond with the organ's notes.
