I'm a 23 yr veteran retired Police Officer in Arkansas. I am fortunate enough to live in the Ozark National Forest, out in the middle of nowhere. Since I have retired I have been spending most of my time hunting and fishing which are my passions in life. I manage my property for wildlife, particulary Whitetailed deer. I believe that we must manage our wildlife properly, that means leaving them habitat, planting supplemental foods for them if necessary, and yes, killing a number of them that will not hurt the herd, but will help it. I do try to kill my limit of 3 deer each year and am usually successful. My family and eat venison more than we do beef, and its nice knowing that when we are eating venison that I have provided, that the meat is totally natural and was obtained by legally hunting and killing the animal humanely in a fair chase environment.
