In today’s multicultural societies, there are many religions, cultures and faiths found within Western society. Islam, Buddhism and Sikhism are just a few that stray from the Christian norm, but as somebody living in the Western world you must accept that everybody have the right to free speech and the right to practice what religion they want. Hence, if somebody wants to practice Satanism, or worship the devil, they should be allowed to do so as long as it does not harm anybody else.
With religion, it’s important to remember that stereotypes are not always correct. People have many impressions about other individuals that practice different faiths, but the fact is that many of the people who do practice a particular faith actually do not fit the stereotype. Hence, if you really want to understand a religion the best thing for you to do first is to research it and find precisely what it is all about. Wikipedia could even be your starting point!
Once you’ve got a basic understanding, you then need to try and talk to some people who practice the religion. Talking to somebody who understands it better than you and lives by the faith every day is the best way to really understand what the religion is about, and come to terms with what the faith entails.
