There are a number of programs that can be used to create, mix and master psytrance or indeed any form of music genre. The most popular of which are: Cubasis, Ableton Live, Cakewalk, Reason and logic.

Ableton Live
Personally I have never ventured into the world of psytrance, but I have experience using Cubasis, Reason and Ableton Live to create, arrange, mix and master my music. I feel that Ableton Live would be the best program for the psytrance genre.
Ableton Live has become the industry standard for DJs and electronic composers. Ableton is tailored made to use loops and samples. Its layout and design is more user-friendly than any DAW I have used.

The program includes a "warp engine" which allows the user to beat match and tempo match songs without them going out of tune. Ableton also has an excellent array of plugins, instruments and effects.
The best point of this DAW- it allows you to manipulate your compositions in a live environment (hence the name!), which makes the program ideal for DJs. Ableton is also one of the cheaper DAWs in the above list. In my opinion it would be the best and most cost-effective psytrance program!
