The Annapolis mall is located in Annapolis, Maryland, USA. It consists of nearly 175 malls with a total area of 1,200,000sq.ft and was started in the year 1980. It is owned by the 'The Westfield Group'. It is officially known as the Westfield Annapolis. Some of its major stores include Borders Books and Music, Macy's (formerly Hecht's), Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, Sears (formerly Montgomery Ward), JCPenney and Crown Theaters. Most of the shops were renamed between the years 1992 and 2005. Some of the shops that underwent changes were May Centers, Inc., Macy's, JCPenney, Hecht's, Garfinckel's, to name a few.
This year the mall has a proposal to expand the area to nearly 240,000 square feet with 60 stores to increase its count. This US$100,000,000 project is supposed to finish by July 2007. It is the largest mall in the Anne Arundel County (surpassing Arundel Mills).
