- About JLS
JLS, which is an acronym for Jack the Lads Swing, first came into being due to the British talent competition, The X Factor, where they were runners up to pop sensation Alexandra Burke in the show's fifth series.
The popular boy band consists of four members in total: Aston Merrygold, Ortisé Williams, JB, and of course Marvin Humes, all of which are close friends as well as business partners.
Despite not winning The X Factor, JLS went on to sign a record deal with Epic Records not long after the show finished for the season and had enormous success in the UK charts straight away, with their first two singles, Beat Again and Everybody in Love, reaching number one upon release.
Selling over one million copies of their first album in the UK, JLS' self titled album was brought out in November 2009, winning them awards for both British Single and British Breakthrough at the 2010 BRIT Awards show.
Not a group to be held back, JLS signed a new record deal in 2010 with an American record label, Jive Records, and has since released many more singles, such as The Club is Alive, and Love You More, which was the officially used single for 2010's Children in Need. They also re-released Everybody in Love as their introduction to the States.
