Maddi Jane is a recording artist who gained recognition in much the same way as Rebecca Black and Justin Bieber – by singing irritating, high-pitched pop songs and abusing social media platforms.
She was born in 1998, and began her music career in 2010 by recording covers of pop songs and uploading them to her YouTube channel, maddijanemusic. As of August 2012, she has nearly 700,000 subscribers.
Maddi Jane’s relentless self-promotion on social media sites has resulted in her featuring on the Billboard Social 50 chart, which ranks people based on their popularity (or contamination of) social media platforms. Also on the list are Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj.
Unfortunately, Maddi Jane is no longer contained to the internet, and was even a guest on The Ellen Show in 2010, where she performed Breakeven (Falling to Pieces) by The Script.
On the plus side, she can actually sing – but then, Leonardo DiCaprio can act, and that didn’t stop The Beach from being an awful movie.
