I guess people's opinion on the Kardashians will always be split. Whilst you're right that they have succeeded in various walks of life, whether that is tantamount to being talented is subject to some debate.
Are the Kardashians talented?
The debate about the Kardashians talent boiled over on a Barbara Walters interview recently.
Walters accused the family of being talentless by saying: "You don't really act; you don't sing; you don't dance. You don't have any -- forgive me -- any talent". Many people feel that these accusations were justified.
On air, the Kardashians retorted by saying that they were entertaining and well-liked, as their TV series proved, and that honing these qualities was a talent in itself.
The Kardashians' celebrity talent
My opinion is that there is always going to be a certain amount of skepticism surrounding the issue of the Kardashians' talent. Whilst designing clothes and running shops requires talent and industry, how much the Kardashians are actually involved in the process is unclear.
These days it does seem as if being a celebrity automatically entitles you to release music, design clothing labels and host TV shows simply based on the amount of public attention you can command. Paris Hilton and Victoria Beckham come to mind in this category.
People also seem to resent the Kardashians because their popularity has a lot to do with Kim Kardashian's infamous sex tape being released over the internet.
The notoriety created by the X-rated video has a lot to do with the way the Karsdashians became a multi-million dollar brand in the first place.
