In the james bond film gold finger I'm pretty sure that the woman wasn't killed by the paint but she was in fact killed and then painted gold as the killers mark.

Hummm... there is some debate about whether you would die if someone painted you in gold paint - more over, why you would want to try it is anyone's guess! However, in the great James Bond, Gold Finger Movie, produced in 1964, Bond has a bit of rumpy-pumpy with Goldfinger's secretary. Bond discovers the secretary has been covered in gold paint and as a result, has suffocated.
We all know that skin has millions of poures which have to be open in order for the skin to breathe. If all the poures were covered up, then it is possible that you could suffocate. However, it all depends on what sort of paint you are going to use. If you were to cover a person with a pot of Homebase high gloss, if it didn't suffocate you, it would certainly make you feel ill. The toxins in household paint are not the ideal paint for body-painting. There are many body-paints which are water-based and can be used on the body. Water-based paints are a bit like make-up that women put on their face. They still allow the skin to breathe. So, in Bond's case, depending on Gold Fingers choice of paint, it could be possible for his secretary to die of suffocation- do not try this at home!
