If you've watched Dr Who in French, you may have heard him use his popular catchphrase allons-y! which translates to: Let's go!

Although I haven't watched much Dr Who in French, I've watched plenty of episodes in English... you could even say it's one of my favourite shows

Doctor Who returned to British TV screen on August 23rd 2014 for the eighth series since the show's return from hiatus in 2005. Prior to this, the show ran from November 23rd 1963 to December 6th 1989, a total of twenty-six series. Twelve different actors have played the lead role of 'The Doctor,' a mysterious alien from the planet Gallifrey who travels in time and space, fighting evil and injustice.

What the French might say about the new Dr Who

The latest episode, entitled 'Deep Breath,' featured the first appearance of the twelfth man to play the role of The Doctor, the Scottish actor Peter Capadli.

This new Doctor, along with confused companion Clara (played by Jenna Coleman), and semi-regulars Madame Vastra (a Silurian played by Neve McIntosh), her maid Jenny (Caitrin Stewart) and Strax the Sontaran (Dan Starkey), must adopt to his new face and body, while hunting down the robotic killer who haunts the streets of Victorian London.

After the show, opinion was divided as the whether the episode was any good, with some criticizing a weak plot and too much reliance on gimmicks and CGI effects, but most agreed that Capaldi will make watching Doctor Who a fascinating experience. Here's an official BBC trailer:
