Walter White and Jesse are the two main characters from the hit TV show Breaking Bad. Whether or not Walter cares about Jesse is at the crux of the dramatic intrigue.
I would personally say Walter White is trying to be something of a father figure to Jessie, but it's not always clear why - and whether the emotions he conveys are genuine...
Father figure
At time Walter behave towards Jesse like a protector or even a father. Their relationship has its foundations in the early days when they operated very much as a pair - before other bigger forces came into play.
Greed
Ultimately, Walter White is motivated by greed and the only people he genuinely cares for are his family. Like real personalities, Walter White is complicated and contrary so the answer to the question of whether he cares for Jesse is both yes and no. Sometimes he does, deeply, and sometimes he's blinded by greed. This ambiguity is what makes him such a compelling character.
