Mine was always Phantasm! Really scary movie!
I can still remember the 1951 version of The Thing From Another World. I skipped school to go and see it and it scared the bejesus out of me. By today's standards it was pretty tame and the special effects would have been primitive -- but it sure had me on the edge of my seat.
Apart from that, Rosemary's Baby would be the best.
I did see The Manitou with Mrs Didge in 1978. It was supposed to be scary but, when Susan Strasburg was fighting an evil spirit as she sat naked on her hotel bed, zapping it with bolts of electricity from the hotel's power supply -- the sparks flying from her fingers as she hissed and spluttered -- we were rolling about laughing. It missed "scary" by a fairly wide margin.
I don't think I've seen a scary movie since then.
That oldie but goodie, The exorcist. Never saw another horror movie again:)
I was so scared of Night of the Living Dead (original) and War of the Worlds (Tom Cruise).
Christine the one with the car that was haunted.
For me it was the first Nightmare on Elm Street. The fact that Freddie only came after you in your dreams was horrifying... (we ALL have to sleep sometime) 😈
I'd have to say The Exorcist. .I also like the shining, the original TexAs chainsaw massacre, the original lAst house on the left, some recent ones I like are insidious & the conjuring . I absolutely love horror movies!
Tourist trap .
There is something spooky about mannequins .
I like doll and puppet movies. Something about them just scare me..
