What was the point of making a new Terminator movie if it's just a recap of the old movies?

At a casual glance it would appear that Hollywood has completely run out of ideas!!! So we end up with remakes, recaps, rehashing, ridiculous!!

I don't understand that either as the old one is a classic. I guess maybe because of all the new special effects. With all the great books out there that would make great movies, Hollywood would rather just keep re-making older movies rather than using their imagination to make something new. I know I'm tired of all the re-makes.
