The Beatles "Rubber Soul" when I was about 11 or 12 years old. My oldest son still has it in his collection.
The Purple People Eater... It was a 78 rpm and I do not recall who sang it. First LP was Spike Jones and His Wacky Wackiteers

(I've never bought an album with my own money)
I think I was 12 maybe and had to have this new album by this brand new band of new style rock! I saved all my allowance and lunch money to buy it !
An 8 track of Journey 's Departure.
Loverboy....Get Lucky
The first 45 I ever bought with my own money (1957):
First record was a 45 of the Ventures doing "Walk, Don't Run". I believe "Perfidia" was the flip side but not sure. First album was either a recording of "Bolero" or Al Hirt's "Honey in the Horn. His rendition of "Stranger in Paradise" was just fantastic.
My first album was The Supremes Greatest Hits.
The King and I. There were a few 45s and 78s before that -- mostly written by Bob Merrill, and mostly sung by Guy Mitchell -- but that was the first LP.
