According to a recent story ... LEGO sets in mint condition are a better investment than gold. I'm curious if anybody here has bought toys to keep as an investment?

Yes, this is true. I was acquainted with someone who collected everything from cereal boxes to pez, but ultimately that stuff is really only worth what someone will ACTUALLY pay you for it!

I know people do it ... but I've never known anyone personally who did.

Myself - I'd have to buy 2 ... one to play with, and one for the investment. lol

I heard that too! Unfortunately I don't have any old toys stashed away, but I remember kicking myself when I found old Happy Meal toys I had when I was younger being sold on eBay for the price of several Happy Meals.

I collect Hotwheels that are worth quite a lot. I wouldn't really consider them an "investment" just fun things I enjoy having and witnessing how valuable it becomes.

Also, Gold wouldn't be considered as an investment in the first place.
