In the Omaha World Herald newspaper, they have three reporters that are dedicated to doing stories of local people doing "good works". There is at least one detailed article in the paper running every day. Sometimes the article will be a page long. You can even send an email in regards to a story for them to investigate. It really makes a difference reading about someone doing good in our city.

I can't stand when they do that! Especially about the weather. I understand if there are tornado warnings and letting people know when to take shelter, but to go on and on showing the same shots over. And on 9/11 I turned on BBC and watched their coverage. I got all the info I needed without the emotional edge.

What got me last night there were two amber alerts. You would think the news would lead off with those, After all we are talking about two children who needed help. But they lead off with the same murder stories from the night before that we had already heard about. The Amber Alerts were the third story in. The both boys were found safe, but I didn't hear that on the news this morning. I had to look it up online today.

I tend to just turn off the tv or watch cable channels on bad weather days. If there is a serious issue like a tornado warning, cable stations will break in with the Emergency Braodcast System. Plus I have an app on my phone to give me alerts.

Yes. Why do you think I stopped watching it?

Been nothing but brushfires on my news! Pretty dry in NJ causing brush fires. The news love to exaggerate anything. I only noticed it because I was over someones house at dinner.

Pretty rare these days.... All I seek in news is the facts and realization in one single sentence or one single statement of what happened. Just like they dance around a video like crazy! Some people like it, but all I want to do is see the raw clip.
