Somehow I never realized that it was popular anywhere but the US. When I got to Okinawa (1964) I found that it was popular there also. The bar girls were always impressed that I could sing in along with them.

That's great! I remember singing it phonetically .... without a clue of the meaning. It just made me happy. :)

Dear Janis Haskell,

DOMINIQUE; released 1963, sung by The Singing Nun - hit #1 on the charts in the USA, no English.

Tragic footnote: I just read that this wonderful songstress committed suicide at the age of 51, along with her life partner.

Hi Tom Jackson!
Tom I just looked up my notes...and between December 2010 when I first joined Ask.com and 2 PM June 30, 2015 when they shut down, I answered a total of 1719 questions...

So your 6,000 answers over three years, that was outstanding!

Frankly, I was a little surprised myself when I noticed. Originally, I was just figuring out my ratio of thanks to answers.

It's kinda more of a pop song, but the song Danza Kuduro by Don Omar is a fun dance song for parties

Thanks to European holidaymakers returning from Turkey, this was a HUGE hit for the greater part of 5 years. Someone even attempted an "Anglicised" version.

Thanks Nina .... I was able to follow your link. If you want to post a video, go to your chosen video, hit "share" and then "embed" and copy the embedding code that appears. Then hit the little video icon in your Blurtit answer box (next to the photo icon) and paste the code.
