The Band of Brothers were in the E or Easy company, my dad was in the D or Dog company at the exact same time. His route through the war was almost the same. That made it special for me.

Das Boot or The Boat in English. About a German U-Boat and the hell it went through. Beyond a doubt one of the best of the bunch.

Too bad that most of the two are completely fiction. Never saw any of that stuff in the years I spent there.

They are all "hollywoodized", at some level I think. Unless we are talking documentaries, which I also enjoy. Ive never been in combat, but it would be my guess actual combat wouldn't make that great a movie.

I really don't watch a lot of movies, but my husband's favorite is Kelly's Heroes.

I have not seen Kelly's Heroes, but that photo looks like Donald Sutherland and I have never seen anything he played in that was not a good film....excellent actor.

The cast is great! Other than Donald Sutherland, it had Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas, and Don Rickles.
