I once read a novel (whose name I forget) that was so off-the-planet that I only kept reading because I was familiar with the author and was confident he would pull it all together. It was about using combinations of hypnosis and psychedelic drugs to create mi ndless assassins. It was far fetched.
Then, on the final page, beyond the epilogue, he wrote a single paragraph. "So you think this could never happen? Log on to the Internet and search for CIA MK ULTRA."
What I found there, from respected news sources, was frightening. Yes, the CIA has really been experimenting with such things. Try the search yourself. It will sicken you but it will open your eyes.
