I'm not sure if it's the most famous, but one Filipino sci-fi movie I keep hearing about is the 2007 feature film Resikilo.
The story centers around an alien invasion perpetrated by a race of insect-like creatures. A small group of survivors is then left to scavenge the charred and debris-littered landscape, in search of anything that can help them survive, fight off the invaders, and discover the truth behind what's happening.
I'd best describe the movie as a "Filipino Disctrict 9, with an emphasis on recycling".
