The theme song for AMC’s "Mad Men" series is A Beautiful Mine, by RJD2. It can be downloaded via Amazon.com or iTunes. Just look for the Magnificent City Instrumentals version and you’ll be listening to the same song. It’s also available with lyrics, though the theme song to the show is the instrumental version.

In season 3, episode 12 (the grown ups) , does anyone know the name of the song the orchestra is playing at the wedding when Don & Betty Draper are dancing ?

The original tune comes from the opening of Enoch Light's Autumn Leaves which was recorded in the 50's or 60's.  RJD2 sampled it.  Youtube it.

Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good" is NOT the theme song - its the promo song. I have her album and its not the song. I would also like to know what that song is.

RJD2 is not a rapper. I don't think I've ever heard of him rapping. RJD2 is a producer. He made the beat that Aceyalone rapped on to on the magnificent city. In fact, RJD2 made all the beats on the album. If you like the opening to Madmen, pick up RJD2's mostly instramental album, Deadringer. It's impressive, and even though it came out in '02, it still hits hard today.

Yeah this answer is completely wrong. How does someone pick up an Aceyalone album and not realize that the beats are produced independently? RJD2 made all the beats for Magnificent City, Aceyalone just threw down his lyrics on top. The Mad Men theme is 100% authored by RJD2 (with some sampling of course).
