It all depends on who the teen looks up to. There are some good role models and there are bad ones. I think it all depends on who the kid and what they want to be like when they are older, and what they are like now. In my opinion, yes. Today's popular culture does provide positive role models for teenagers. PROS: Demi Lovato- Stomp Out Bullies, which is a good one for this topic, I think. Venus and Serena Williams- they support being healthy and playing sports and dressing appropriately and being honest and decent CONS: Michael Phelps- got caught smoking pot..obviously not a good example ---- Sunny Olson :) ** I'm doing an essay with this as the topic :)
Yes taylor swift.
Nope.
I think so but it depends on who the kids choose to model themselves on. Popular culture ideally should never be used to define ourselves or raise the children
I would say no because most of the pop culture is negative stuff ex: Drugs are cool, dressing inappropriately,
No way!! There are only a FEW good role models in todays pop culture.... EX. Taylor Swift Jordin Sparks and many disney stars. Many kids think they are too cool for all those stars but I would rather be "uncool" because I like hannah montana and the jonas brothers than act like paris hilton or britney spears!!!!
Well, it can but most of the time it dosen't ..
In many cases it dosent.
Ex: If you looked up to britany spears.would you want here to dress imporpertly, and going out to party's and not letting kids look up to her because of that! I am a role model because I'm a great basketball player and head cheerleader. And I make sure I look nice talk nice and have fun the right way!

I believe that today popular Culture does provide many good role models for today teens but there is a few bad ones; the ones that we have to worry about our children "copying" or fallowing!
