Miles Davis, one of the most talented jazz musicians died on September 28 in the year 1991. He was 65 years old. He shot to fame in the latter half of the 20th century and was an essential component of any and all of the jazz movements that took place at the time. He was also a talented bandleader, trumpeter and composer. He is also seen as one of the first people to bring forward cool jazz records.
A lot of his work done during the sixties and the seventies played a pivotal role in the development of jazz fusion as well as modal jazz. A little prior to his death he was touring with fellow musicians Duke and Miller. His last performance was at the Montreaux Jazz festival with Quincy Jones. He died of a stroke and presently rests at the Woodlawn Cemetery in The Bronx, New York.
