Programming your DirectTV remote with a Dynex TV is a reasonably quick and simple process. Before beginning to program your remote control and television you will need to try and find the remote code that will help you connect the two devices. There should be a code provided in your remote control's packaging but if you are unable to locate one there are many websites that offer universal remote codes for both three and four digit remote controls. The DirectTV remote requires a four digit code and when finding a website that supplies them, make a note of several in case the first couple do not work. Once you have your code and remote control ready you can then start following the steps to program your remote with your television.
• First make sure that your television is switched on and point your remote control at the screen. Then, press the 'menu' button on the remote.
• Once the menu screen has appeared on the television, find the secondary menu option that reads 'Parental, faves and setup'. Select this menu option.
• Within the 'Parental, faves and setup' menu you will then see another list of options, one of which is simply 'Setup'. Enter this screen.
• You will now see an option that says 'Remote'. Select this option and then choose 'Program Remote'.
• To program your remote, press and hold the 'mute' and 'select' buttons together until a green light at the top of the remote control flashes two times.
• The television screen will now prompt you to enter your remote control code. Try as many codes as it takes from your list you collected from the internet until one of them registers. You will know that the code has worked successfully if the remote light flashes green twice.
