The song you're thinking of is Christmas Wrapping by American new wave band, The Waitresses.
Christmas Wrapping was written by Chris Butler in 1981. It was first released on Christmas compilation album A Christmas Record, and then again a year later on The Waitresses' EP, I Could Rule the World if I Could only Get the Parts.
The lyrics are written from the perspective of a young single woman who is intent on spending Christmas alone, abstaining from all holiday activities other than Christmas dinner.

The song has been covered by the following artists:
  • Spice Girls (Melanie C and Emma Bunton only)
  • Glee (2011 cast)
  • Kate Nash
  • The Donnas (included, along with the original, on the Shrek Christmas album Shrek The Halls
  • Miranda Cosgrove
