How Do You Pick A Good Name For A Girl Group?

So you recently hooked up with a bunch of cool girls who share the same interests as you. As such, you need to come up with a funky name for your girl group as a means for you gals to be recognized and remembered. There are many names for a girl group but the key here is to be unique. Don’t be a copycat and name your group after a famous girl band or girl group you’ve seen on TV and in the movies.

It’s easy to pick a good name for a girl group especially if you all put your heads together. Here are some questions you have to ask yourselves that will help you arrive at a good name for your group:

What interests do you share?

Better get a pen and a paper and list down what brought you together in the first place. Make a list of your common interests and there you can think of a nice name that speaks of you.

Perhaps the easiest way to give a name for your group is to use your initials. List down the first letter of your names; scramble them until you come up with a catchy word that contains all your initials. This way, all of you are represented in your group name.

How many are you?

Sometimes, numbers are a great source of inspiration when coming up with a name for your girl group. Count how many girls you have in your group and use that number to signify the whole group. Remember Fantastic 4? For sure you can come up with something more interesting than that.

First you need to think about what type of band you are: For example; pop, rock, indie, R&B, classical, punk...and then come up with some words that you would associate with your music genre. So if you were a girly pop group then things like glam, glitter, or gloss. You could try making a word out of the group member's names perhaps, or find a name that is connected to something that you are involved with or feel strongly about. Maybe a religion or someone you know who has a cool name that you could use to pay tribute to. Your choice!

I have a girl dance group. To help us make our name we decided on what we all liked. For Ex.: Colors, style, thing, subject, music, art, etc. It is very hard to come up with a name too. For us, we changed our names about 10 times to get what we want. Now, we are changing again because the others didn't like, "The Pinc Ladeees" (that is ladies) so now we have to decide again.

If the group is going against some other group you want a name exciting and interesting like
Chics, Pinks, Red Faced, Boom!, and other things you could probably think of better than mine. Those names that I typed, I just thought of now. It might take time to think of one because you might like this, you think this is to silly, my friends might not like it and other stuff too. The best way to think of a name is to be good friends. Thats the key point for me.

Um jus  pick nick names and put them tagether and if you don't a good group name is the swagga girlz or swagg killas (for boys)

So as long as the name has a catchy ring to it. I'm sure it's be fine

You could pick a name beggining with all your name there is six in my dance group Me,(Jessie),Catie,Kylie,Emilie and Sarah-Marie (but we just call her Sarah) so we call ourselves 'Jesck'

To pick a good name for a girl group all you need is some common sense. Incase you are planning to name a group of girls for a particular match or tournament then try and come up with sporting names such as shooting stars, jumpers, girl powers, etc.

Incase you just plan to name a group for a casual group that you girls have formed then maybe you can try name like power puff, pink girls, spice girls, cinnamons, cookies, Dixie chicks, candy girls, The Poni-Tails, to name a few. Incase you do not want names more on the girl side but want names in terms of your strength and attitude then simply pick a name and carry it with enough of attitude.

All you do is pretty much make every person in the group a chance to think of a cool or cute name up and then you all vote for one not knowing whos it is but your not allowed to vote for yourself.
