There are three theories as to why Scott left Counting Cars:
- He was fired for embezzlement.
As you may have noticed, Scott's name was removed the Counts Kustom's website team section. If he was leaving the show amicably, you wouldn't think they'd go to this length.
As we all know, he was heavily involved in the financials of the company, so this is a possibility - although it's dangerous and unfair to speculate at this point!2. He just wanted to go home and take a break
In a recent interview, Scott mentioned how he intended to leave Las Vegas at some point, and return to his hometown of Greeneville.
The idea that he simply got homesick is cute, but it doesn't wash with me. Very few people would give up a place on a national TV show and a lucrative contract just because they missed their home town...3. He lost his job because he wasn't performing well enough.
This is entirely plausible too. Even though Counts Kustom has a TV deal, in many ways that means there is more pressure to keep the business successful, as what TV producer wants to make a show about a failed automotive company?
Scott was the Project Manager, and as such in charge of all the car restoration projects. He needed to make sure work was completed on time and within the budget. I've worked in car shops before, and I have a feeling he wasn't doing a good job...
Either way something did go down.
There is no way Danny would have let him go so suddenly and quietly, without any send off, unless he had done something to create bad blood.
I wonder whether we will ever find out the truth!
