I don't think it's so expensive! Where I live it's not here at least! But I guess that's the same for everywhere too! Because learning drums is not a hard task and won't cost lots I guess!
My twin plays drums in our band and she doesnt have a drum set! She sometimes uses a mini drum set that doest have a full set. Drumming is ALOT harder than you think. The skill involved and natural talent I guess. Esepcially as a beginner, drumming is quite challenging. If you're up for it. Drums can be up to $1000 AUD in a normal music shop. We are looking to get her drums, but we dont have space or the money, but you can find them cheap online.
We just use the drums at school but she still craves them at home XD
But yea, overall srumming is:
-hard and challenging
-expensive
-FUN
At our school, they are giving instrument lesosns, and now they are doing drum lessons aswell. I think it's $20 a half an hour (from experience at OUR school, it will be different). Try looking around for deals. Gumtree is a good site that you can find lessons, well ANYTHING really.
Hope I helped :) good luck
If you want to know how much it'll cost you to learn to play the drums, I'd honestly say it kind of depends on two things:
- What kind of music facilities you have available to you
- How well you want to learn to play
Drum lessons are a popular option, and some schools even offer them to students, so if this is an option for you, then take it!
Even if there's a cost involved, having one-on-one drum lessons with someone who knows their stuff is really valuable if you are keen to learn how to lay the drums.
A few kids in my school learned to play drums through an after-school activity offered by the music teacher. Is this an option for you?Learning to play the drums - how much will it cost?
If you want to become a really good drummer, the one thing you will need is practice - and plenty of it.
This is where the main cost is involved.
Ideally, purchasing a drum kit would be really useful. There's no need to go with a well-known brand and top-quality gear initially, but you will want to have a set to practice on.
A junior drum set might start at $100, but you're really looking at $200+ for even a second-hand full sized set.
After that, you may want to upgrade as your technique enhances, but the other main tip i will give you is JOIN A BAND and get some shows lined up.There is nothing that motivates you to practice hard more than the fear of embarassement in front of a live audience.
