My absolute favourite is the original cover for My Fair Lady. It shows Liza Doolittle, as a puppet, being manipulated by Professor Higgins, also a puppet, being manipulated by God (who looks remarkably like George Bernard Shaw, who wrote the original story, Pygmalion.)
