Yes, I have.

I used to work at the California Institute of Technology. Sheldon Cooper types were everywhere.

One of my favorite times of year is around this time the undergraduates have a yearly contest. There is a theme. The class who can best represent that theme wins. You would not believe what they go through and what they make. The public is allowed in after they have been graded. I have seen a lot of scientific examples of almost anything you could imagine. One year, I can't remember the theme, they had a whole building inside and down in the quad covered in plastic and had made some kind of wave machine. It's crazy, you should see all of the Sheldon Coopers running around talking to themselves.

Yes. I knew someone who was very brilliant. He had taught himself many classical languages, like Greek, Latin and Sanskrit and took college classes at the most advanced levels in his first year of school. He was so overwhelmed by the regular world that he had to take sedatives to go to the mall. His mother took him once a year to buy new clothes.
