I was in two stores yesterday and both were already decked out for Christmas, music and all. Isn't this getting kind of lame to do this so early?
Yes, Christmas themes are popping up as early as Oct 1. Merchants and consumers are becoming more greedier each year. What can you do for me.
I think it's just horrible and spoils the holiday. Even the commercials on TV are full of Christmas decorations. It's just way too early.
I get where people find it an infringement on Thanksgiving, but the reality of retail is people are spreading their Christmas shopping out over a longer time span. It keeps peoples budgets from being blown in December and holds off the stress of trying to find everything within a few short weeks. The retailers are taking advantage of that. I think playing Christmas music is too much, as is completely decking out the store. I think little reminders would work just as well.
