La Mort du Rat -- a short with not a single syllable of dialogue that unerringly traced a chain of events that led from a guy ogling a woman in a factory to a rat being murdered by a feline predator. It was very clever.
What is the Best Foreign Language Movie You Ever Watched? Life is Beautiful, Amélie, Pan's Labyrinth, Oldboy, City of God, Other?
There's some classic Japanese movies I like: "Woman of the Dunes" and "Rashomon" and some others. It's been so long I forget the titles. I like some Indian movies, like "Lagaan" and "Dil Se". I also love Fellini's "Roma" and "La Strada" (very sad). I like "Last Tango In Paris", too, although it is also very, very sad. It has a great soundtrack with Gato Barbieri on sax. I love "Walkabout" (Australia) and most of Werner Herzog's films, especially "Aguirre".
I loved "Pan's Labyrinth"!
Now I feel like seeing a movie.
Of these the nly one I have seen is Life is Beautiful. Another one that i have seen and did enjoy was Like Water for Chocolate.
Windwalker. Although it isn't really in a foreign language, being filmed in (I believe) Lakota.
