J + M =  32

J = 3M

4M = 32

M = 8

Mark has 8 Marbles, John has  24

Of course you didn't NEED algebra for this, I was just showing off :)

32/4 = 8

John = 8 x 3 = 24

Mark = 8 x 1 = 8

Check it: 24 + 8 = 32
