Dear Gator Blu, maybe you knew all this...but I was looking to see if the film got any Oscars (no), but in retrospect it is considered a really great film - getting on all sorts of "best-movie-ever" lists...

Quentin Tarantino apparently called it "the greatest achievement in the history of cinema." He voted for The Good, the Bad and the Ugly as his choice for the best film ever made.

I saw it only the one time because of its violence, great movie but never again I thought ...but now may watch again.

I have never seen the movie, I was just going for the title. I think my husband has it on DVD though. I know he thinks it is a great movie.

I learned things! It was apparently discounted at the time (1966), because it is a spaghetti western; and the whole genre was in disrepute then. But through the lens of time...a different view...

Anyway, fascinating, so glad you mentioned it...and wishing for you "good" aspect to continue!

I've never seen the film all the way through, I don't like watching violence, (seen enough grusome in real life) but dueling banjoes is great. There's a few good ones online,

I can play some guitar but love to play banjo my other half has one.

Pepper Pot I just loved it...every time I notice something more... how the little fellow was so shy after the piece was finished, turning his head away...

And yes I truly understand with the violence, I almost try to protect my mind now, because we get so much on the news and in daily life...I did not realize you yourself played banjo, something so soothing...

Peggy Bundy did go in the kitchen one time with her daughter Kelly..... oddly Peggy never graduated high school and the ONE class she didn't pass was home economics! When Al teased her that even Buck the dog got his diploma from dog training school she decided to take the final which should get her her diploma. It just so happened to be in Kelly's class. They tackled the kitchen together and with some cheating of course.... Peggy passed the final and got her diploma...... Kelly on the other hand, had to go to summer school! LOLOLOL!
