But the outstanding TV series for WWII was Foyle's War. It was authentic on so many levels.

Of the classic WWII films, Humphrey Bogart in any of several...TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT, for example.

More recently, and less obvious, I might pick something like SOPHIE'S CHOICE,  1982 Meryl Streep's superb performance.
