I'd like to become both a jazz singer and a drummer, but I don't know if I should stick with one instrument. What do you think?

It's difficult to be both a drummer AND singer in any genre.  Why?  Because the drummer's main job is to keep the beat ... While the song lyrics (singer) don't have to follow it.  So your brain would be trying to multitask - and the human brain is not designed for real multitasking.

It's not common, but Karen Carpenter did it.  (She and her brother later hired an additional drummer, so she wasn't permanently stuck behind the drums.)
