Bugs Bunny was created in 1940. He was originally voiced by Mel Blanc, but Jeff Bergmann replaced Blanc after Blanc died in 1989. Bugs Bunny has many famous catchphrases, including 'Ehh..What's up, doc?' and has many rivals including Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Daffy Duck, and many others. Bugs made his first appearance in 1940, in 'A Wild Hare', where he met the hunter Elmer Fudd for the first time.

Bugs Bunny was well known during World War II and has since been featured in the Looney Tunes series and also Merrie Melodies. He has also appeared in films such as 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit', 'Space Jam' and more recently 'Looney Tunes: Back in Action'.

In 2002, Bugs Bunny was voted number one in TV Guide's 50 greatest cartoon characters of all time.
