Teen idol Justin Bieber began his rise to fame by posting videos of himself singing on YouTube. These videos were discovered in 2008 by Scooter Braun and this could be said to be when he became famous. Scooter Braun contacted Bieber through his YouTube and arranged for him to meet singer Usher in Atlanta, Georgia. Soon after being taken on by manager Braun, Justin Bieber was signed to Raymond Braun Media Group. This record company is a joint venture between Braun himself and Usher and with their help, Bieber secured a recording contract with L.A. Reid of Island Records.
He released his debut single, ‘One Time’, which was released worldwide in 2009. On an international scale, some may argue that this was in fact the point at which he rose to fame. The single charted in the top thirty of several international markets and peaked in the top ten in Canada. Within a few months his first EP ‘My World’ was released. Eventually being certified platinum in the United States, he became the first artist to have seven songs from the same album all in the Billboard Hot 100. In March 2010 Bieber released his first full studio release, ‘My World 2.0’ and has received huge success. The album debuted at number one in America and in the top 10 across the world before quickly being certified platinum. His music video for ‘Baby’ is the most viewed and most discussed on YouTube.
However, this success was rivalled with its status as most disliked until it was recently overtaken by Rebecca Black’s ‘Friday’. Shortly after releasing his first album, Justin Bieber embarked on his first headlining tour, ‘My World Tour’. He performed all over the world before settling back to create two remix albums ‘My Worlds Acoustic’ and ‘Never Say Never - The Remixes’.
