Elvis is the greatest entertainer that ever lived and Elvis has sold more records than anyone else in history. Elvis's achievements will never be surpassed. No one is more well known around the world than Elvis. Go anywhere in the world and say the name "Elvis" and the people know instantly who you are talking about. There is no bigger icon in the music world than Elvis Presley. To compare Jackson to Elvis is a joke. Jackson sounded like he was trying to sing like a child. Elvis the king forever.

Elvis according to all the stats shows to have now passed the 1.6 billion mark, jackson has the most for a single album 'thriller', beatles the most for a band, and bing crosby for a single song 'white christmas'. These are the fact's, keep in mind there very many good entertainers in the world over, all this presents is numbers, elvis himself was a very versital artist doing a cross of everything, so it would make sense for his sales to be like this, he did a little of everything thus having people enjoy him for whatever  kind of music they liked in one way or another.

Pretty sure it is elvis. Beatles were good but from what ive seen only 250-300 million copy's, they were popular, but apparently not enough, elvis was one of the people that made rock famous. Sadly the fake hip hop stuff has taken over and now barely anyone listens to rock over the stuff. Elvis has apparently sold 1.3 billion albums worldwide.

Sorry to all michael jackson fans. I am sorry he is dead, but elvis has sold the most records of all time over 1.3 billion!!! People keep saying that michael jackson paved the way for many artist. That is true. But it is also true that if it were not for elvis, michael jackson may not have been around either!!!!! Elvis came before him. Some artist like chuck berry came before elvis, but it was elvis who set the world on fire!!!!

Michael was awarded total 8 certificates of the world record by Guinness, including the best seller “Thriller”, the first artist who sold over 100 million albums outside the United States, the first artist who had an annual income over 100 million dollars and many others. Michael Jackson a special certificate -world’s most successful artist I think Michael was more famous than Elvis I think he had a much larger fan base that covered the whole world

Well, hard to say. I think this is definately an arguments question and I don't think ANYONE really has the correct answers, I think it just takes a wild guess.

I suppose The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Elvis are the top ones on that list.
Bare in mind NOBODY HAS SOLD OVER A BILLION ALBUMS! Elvis DID NOT sell over a billion albums and that's a FACT! You either have a misconception or you're just an idiot.

But either Michael or Elvis are most likely the winners, we CAN'T say.

Achievements Guinness to award Michael Jackson -world’s most successful artist I think Michael was more famous than Elvis had a much larger fan base that covered the whole world. Michael Jackson is a genius of stage. Michael started his music career at age 5, he accumulated unmatchable performing and skills in his 45-year long artist life. His owns the world’s best selling album, “Thriller”. His world tours had the largest scale and attracted the most number of audience in the history.

HIStory; 20,000,000
Off The Wall; 20,000,000
Bad,30,000,000
Dangerous, 32,000,000
Thriller; 110,000,000

Overall he sold 112 million and counting. No single album has gone over 50 million, AC/DC comes second (As in most sold single album), they sold 49,000,000 with back in black.
The Beatles sold 93 million, also counting. It’s impressive, but not as much as MJ.

Wow! I can't believe how stupid and belligerent people are on this thing - as if it matters! They were all big time performers and any cries of "Such and such was the greatest performer of all time" is just silly opinion as if you are cheering for some stupid football team. Grow up. There are many artists whose technical skill at playing their instruments or recording techniques or whatever completely blow the Beatles, Elvis, and Michael Jackson out of the water. Therefore trying to stand behind an artist's merit in their accomplishments based on album sales is moronic. Many cruddy performers get to the top of the charts based on promotion and stupid celebrity politics, while genius performers and modern day Mozarts lurk in the underground. Don't be blinded by the hype. Open your eyes and wash your ears out and go enjoy the variety that is in the world of music.

The question was: Who sold the most albums in the world, and it has been answered.

Beatles Continue to Dominate
Capitol Upgrades Six Titles, Bringing New Total to Over 113 Million Band Lengthens Their Lead as Highest Certified Artists in History
Washington, DC - More than 40 years after their formation in Liverpool, England, The Beatles catalog continues to sell at a brisk pace. Six albums climbed the multi-platinum ladder in July, led by "The Beatles," which jumped to the 18 million mark. Better known as "The White Album," it is one of the seven highest certified albums of all time.

"Without question, The Beatles remain one of the most influential bands in rock and roll history," said RIAA President and CEO Hilary Rosen. "Their music simply transcends generations."

In addition to "The White Album," "Love Songs" climbed to 3 million, "Revolver" jumped to 5 million, "Magical Mystery Tour" is now certified at 6 million and "The Beatles 1962-1966" and "The Beatles 1967-1970" now stand at 14 million and 15 million, respectively. These upgrades bring their total to 113.5 million units

Elvis have sold over 1 billion copy's, but common...
Michael Jackson have sold more then twice what Elvis sold when still alive!
You really think elvis is going to keep away when the music Michael Jackson never released will be? Michael Jackson DID plan what was suppose to happened after hes death for sure, and also with elvis in mind!
Just wait a couple of months, and Michael Jackson will release a brand new album!
And that album might even sell more then anything ever sold before due to hes death...
Just take a look at the charts now, Michael has 5-7 top 10 album sales world wide for last month, and those sales is 99% sold in 5 days... He even have 3-5 top ten singles sales in the same period... Have you ever seen that from elvis??? Or beatles???

You are just so wrong!!!!! Mj is nothing compared to the Beatles, who BTW have sold the most of any artists period at 1.3 billion plus, Elvis is #2 at 1 billion mj is a far distant 3rd at 350 million he will never catch either as their sales continue to grow his will sink soon after his death stuff blows over he will then be forgotten as he should be.

Lol at people just guessing. Michael Jackson has the highest selling single album of all-time with Thriller, but Elvis Presley has sold over 1 billion records total. Elvis also has 147 singles and albums that have been certified gold. The Beatles and Michael Jackson are #2 and #3 (respectively), both selling over 750 million total.

I think that Elvis Presley was the greatest entertainer of all time. I'm not saying MJ wasnt as good as him because they were both great in their own styles. MJ, Elvis and The Beatles are all greats and shall forever remain that way but if i had to chose then i would say Elvis because i have never heard any1 say MJ sold over a billion records, i've only here them say he sold more. Plus the charts didnt start til 1959 and therefore the songs Elvis had before could have had a much bigger impact.
